Optical Camo is an incredibly powerful piece of cyberware that players can install in Cyberpunk 2077. For those wishing to employ a more stealthy playthrough, Optical Camo is pretty much required. The Integumentary System enhancement effectively renders V invisible to enemies. Here’s how to get it.

Optical Camo, a piece of cyberware, is sold by ripperdocs. Since the 2.0 update, all ripperdocs in Night City now carry the same inventory. From City Center to Dogtown, players can upgrade V however they see fit with the guarantee that they’re getting the best deal and availability in town. This means that players no longer have to play nice with the complete piece of garbage that is Fingers.

  • Tier 2: -30% visibility to enemies for four seconds.
  • Tier 3: -50% visibility to enemies for four seconds.
  • Tier 4: -70% visibility to enemies for four seconds.
  • Tier 5: -90% visibility to enemies for seven seconds.

Optical Camo isn’t true invisibility in the sense that players won’t be able to skate past heavily guarded areas without repercussions. Sound judgment and situational awareness should still be employed. That being said, it can afford V a little leeway should they slip up.

Perks can also take advantage of Optical Camo. Extended Warranty in the Technical Tree extends the duration by 15% while Cyborg in the same tree reduces cooldown by 15%. Creeping Death in the Cool Tree directly benefits Optical Camo by granting +15% health, +15% stamina, and +10% movement speed for six seconds on each kill while active. For those with the Phantom Liberty expansion, the Emergency Cloaking perk in the Relic Tree is available. Not only does it improve Optical Camo’s effect, but players can now manually trigger Optical Camo during combat.

Overall, Optical Camo is definitely worth your consideration. With the ability to respec, players are encouraged to tinker around during their dozens of hours in Night City. So, go get some new chrome, chooms!
