How to get more Battery Charges (Stamina) in Zenless Zone Zero

Start every day with a caffeinated jolt of energy.

As with other gacha games, Zenless Zone Zero has a stamina mechanic that players will want to access as soon as possible. In HoYoverseā€™s new action RPG, itā€™s called Battery Charges, and topping them up daily will become part of your routine. So just how do you get more Battery Charges, or stamina, in Zenless Zone Zero?

Unlocking the Coff Cafe coffee shop on Sixth Street

The Coff Cafe is one of the many locations on Sixth Street in the city of New Eridu, and it will become available after youā€™ve progressed a few hours into the game. Youā€™ll find it directly across from the convenience store with all the Bangboos.

Soon after getting access to Fairy, youā€™ll meet a new character named Nekomata and get sent on a Story Commission called ā€œExplosive Last Train.ā€ Upon your return, youā€™ll receive a text message from Tin Master, the owner of Coff Cafe. Heā€™ll ask you to come and help out at the shop. Complete his simple minigame to gain access to the cafĆ©ā€™s selection of coffees, as well as a VR device from the Hollow Investigative Association Club.

Farming materials at the HIA Club

The HIA Club is where youā€™ll farm for materials when youā€™re not progressing the story or completing Commissions. Each foray into the club’s VR combat simulation requires Battery Charges, and completion rewards you with Dennies, character upgrade materials, W-Engine components, and other important items.

Battery Charges and Coffee

Drinking a hot brew from Coff Cafe will give you 60 Battery Charges and also grant a buff to increase your efficiency when farming specific material types. For example, the Black Tea Latte, which becomes available when you unlock the shop, doubles the drop amount of mats required to promote Stun characters.

Keep in mind that you can only drink one coffee per day, but the extra Battery Charges overcharge your stamina if youā€™re already at the cap. In other words, if youā€™re at the 240 Battery Charge limit, drinking coffee will get you to 300.

Other ways to get more Battery Charges

You can also use Zenless Zone Zero’s valuable Polychrome and Ether Batteries to gain more Battery Charges, though this isnā€™t recommended. It gets more expensive each time, thereā€™s a limit on how many times you can do it per day, and these two in-game currencies are better used elsewhere.

As with any gacha game, patience is another way to get things if youā€™re a free-to-player. Simply waiting will get you more Battery Charges, as they replenish at the rate of 10 per hour up to the 240 cap. Who wants to wait for anything these days, though, right? Just grab a cup of Joe and go.
