How to get Impenetrable Thorns in Elden Ring

To even the playing field against the insanely difficult bosses.

If youā€™re running a Faith build in Elden Ring and want some really strong sorceries to cast in Shadow of the Erdtree, then Impenetrable Thorns is something you’ll want in your arsenal. To add to the other amazing spells in the DLC, this one will have its own uses because of the powerful Blood Loss effect.

Where to get the Impenetrable Thorns Sorcery in Elden Ring

You must progress far enough into Shadow of the Erdtree to get Impenetrable Thorns in Elden Ring. You have to get to the Shadow Keep and progress just far enough to get to Messmer. You do not have to fight him or defeat him.

Once you get far enough into the Shadow Keep, youā€™ll find the Dark Chamber Entrance Site of Grace. From here, just go back a bit. Go past where you fought Kood, the Fire Knight. Go down the stairs where you initially came from.

Youā€™ll fight three enemies here, which wonā€™t be a problem to deal with. Once the enemies are cleared here, do not enter the room back in the Storehouse. Instead, walk off the ledge. Do not jump, roll, or run too far. If you do, you might miss the ledge youā€™re looking to land on.

The correct place to get to is where the patrolling winged creature is. You can perform a jumping attack on it as youā€™re descending so it wonā€™t knock you off.

Why is Impenetrable Thorns so good?

This sorcery is considered to be really strong because it can inflict Blood Loss on enemies. It doesnā€™t take a lot of FP to cast and it hits in front of the player in a conic angle. It also shoots out three tendrils, meaning it can hit large foes three times in one cast and can build up the status effect rather quickly.

Having more levels specced into your Arcane stat will further increase the bleed buildup and damage of the spell. Even if Blood Loss was nerfed previously, that huge chunk of damage will help you in the long run.
