How to get Gysahl Greens in Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV)

It's dangerous to go alone, take a Chocobo!

If you’re running FATEs in Final Fantasy XIV right now, which is likely with all the new areas added in Dawntrail, then it’s equally likely that you’re going to want your Chocobo at your side. They’re a healer, DPS, and sometimes even a tank, but you need to summon them first.

To summon your Chocobo companion, you need Gysahl Greens. This type of plant is a favorite of Chocobos everywhere, and using one Gysahl Green will call your Chocobo to your side for 30 minutes.

Gysahl Greens only cost 36 Gil each, so buying a huge stack isn’t going to break the bank and will enable you to call your Chocobo to your side at a moments notice in any situation. For reference, that’s 3,564 Gil for a stack of 99 which will enable your Chocobo to be at your side for a total of 49.5 hours.

How to grow Gysahl Greens in Final Fantasy XIV

Gardening Plot in Final Fantasy XIV

If you’ve got a green thumb, you could always utilize a gardening plot to grow your own Gysahl Greens. However, this is time consuming and complicated, especially if you’re looking to source your own seeds.

To get Gysahl Greens, you need to crossbreed two other types of seeds in order to get Gysahl Greens Seeds. Crossbreeding seeds involves planting specific seeds directly next to each other in the same plot in the hopes of generating certain seeds when it comes to harvesting.

There are a lot of pairing options which could possibly give you Gysahl Greens Seeds when planted next to each other, but here’s just a few:

  • Cieldalaes Pineapple x O’Ghomoro Berry
  • Doman Plum x Xelphatol Apple
  • Han Lemon x Mamook Pear
  • Pixie Plum x Valfruit

Failing this method, you can always purchase some Gysahl Greens Seeds on the Marketboard. However due to the complications when it comes to creating the seeds, they usually sell for more than the Gysahl Greens themselves, so you’re better off finding a vendor and purchasing a stack.
