How to obtain Fyr’alath via raiding

Now that Fyrakk has been killed, Fyr’alath can drop off Fyrakk on any difficulty including Raid Finder. However, the easier the difficulty, the lower the chance to drop. Essentially, Fyr’alath’s drop chance works very similar to Nasz’uro in that you can technically get get drop on any raid difficulty, but aren’t likely to. Furthermore, like Nasz’uro, the chance increases will include chances from your uncompleted Fyrakk kill difficulties for that given week, as well as an increasing chance each future week you do not get the weapon.

Once you’re lucky enough to obtain the axe, you will have to complete its unique quest line to unlock the actual weapon along with its effects.

How the Fyr’alath pity system works

Blizzard included a pity system for players specifically targeting Fyr’alath. From now on, if the axe doesn’t drop when you defeat Fyrakk, you will get a Greater Ember of Fyr’alath as long as you are a Death Knight, Paladin, or Warrior, regardless of the difficulty. You can obtain the Greater Ember once per week regardless of difficulty or spec.

Also, when you defeat other bosses in Amirdrassil on Heroic or Mythic difficulty there is a chance for them to drop Lesser Ember of Fyr’alath.

Both of these Embers can be consumed to increase your personal chance of getting Fyr’alath as a drop. This system makes it so those trying to get the axe will have an increased chance to do so every week.

Now that you know how to get Fyr’alath Legendary Axe in WoW, you should probably make sure you kill Fyrakk at least once each week.

Fyr’alath Hotfix

Recently the legendary axe Fry’alath received a pretty substantial damage buff. The new changes increase the amount of haste the Mark of Fryr’alath provides while also enabling the damage to now critically strike. It’s a good buff, but it still has lingering issues when activating alongside the active-use ability of the weapon, Rage of Fry’alath.

As such, the weapon is certainly stronger with the hotfix. However, the primary issue that is holding the weapon back still exists. Until Blizzard changes the interaction between Mark of Fyr’alath and Rage of Fry’alath, the weapon is still going to be in a strange spot.
