How to get Fortnite’s Wastelander Magneto skin

Play the X-Men '97 theme!

It wouldn’t be a Fortnite season without some sort of Marvel crossover, and for Season 3: Wrecked, it’s the X-Men who take center stage, with a special Wastelander Magneto skin coming to the game.

The newest Fortnite season sees the island turned into an apocalyptic wasteland akin to Fallout or Mad Max. With that in mind, the Season 3 Battle Pass skins are all themed to fit the dark and gritty theme, and Magneto is getting that treatment too.

If you fancy getting your hands on this special edition of one of X-Men‘s most iconic characters, then we’ve got you covered.

How to unlock Wasteland Magneto in Fortnite

Fortnite players will be able to unlock Wasteland Magneto by completing Battle Pass Quests in July.

Unfortunately, we don’t have too many details beyond that, as Epic hasn’t given us an exact release date, or any clues regarding what those challenges will entail. This means that even if you reach the max level in the Season 3 Battle Pass, you’ll still not unlock the skin automatically.

It does make sense that Magneto would arrive in July though, with Deadpool & Wolverine releasing in cinemas on July 26. We’ve also seen leakers suggest that an Item Shop tab that revolves around the ultra-popular Disney+ cartoon X-Men ’97 is coming, so I would expect both to drop simultaneously.

As for what havoc Magneto will cause on the Fortnite island? Well, that remains to be seen. I don’t expect he’ll just quietly arrive though, so keep an eye out through the summer for some magnetic mischief coming our way.
