How to get Essence Drop in Fields of Mistria

A different type of essence

There are a ton of different resources to collect in Fields of Mistria and eventually use as part of crafting recipe, and the first major update on November 18 added a few more to worry about. One of them, Essence Drop, is particularly useful for a particular crafted set of furniture.

The problem with Essence Drop, is that it is a drop from only one monster within the Mines, so you might have a hard time stocking up on it to begin with. However, once you’ve unlocked the necessary levels of the Mines, you’ll be able to go down and farm for the resource pretty easily.

To begin farming for Essence Drop, you’ll need to first unlock the Mines and then get past the Water Seal. It is a purple teardrop shaped resource that is a possible drop from the newly added Essence Bat monster within the Mines. They can be found anywhere in Tide Caverns and Deep Earth, although they seem to get more common the further you descend.

Watch out for their sonic attack, which can be pretty devastating if you’re not geared appropriately for the level of the Mine that you happen to be exploring. Essence Bats will get an exclamation point above their head before they attack, and then shoot out purple rays in your general direction that can’t be deflected, so make sure to dodge and weave!

Before you reach Town Rank 50, Essence Drop might not seem all that useful and it can be tempting to just sell it, even though it only sells for 20 Tesserae each. However, I’d advise that you stock up on this resource as much as possible, because it’s used as part of the recipe for items that are part of the Cottage Garden decor set.

You receive five different items from this set, as well as their recipes that can be used to create multiple variations of each item, between Town Rank level 50 and 60, so you’re going to want some Essence Drop when you get there. You’ll only need one or two Essence Drop per item you want to make, but as they’re very cute and almost romantically themed, you’re likely to want to make a lot of them.

The five different items included with the Cottage Garden decor set, and what Town Rank you unlock them at, are:
