How to get diamonds in Minecraft Movie Live Event

Diamonds are forever...

In the Minecraft Movie Live Event, diamonds are the most sought-after item, just like in the base game. However, this time, obtaining them requires more than simply mining at lower Y levels. Let’s dig into how to get diamonds for this limited event.

Diamonds await discovery in the mysterious Mines of the A Minecraft Movie servers. These precious gems supposedly spawn in Level 2, which is currently locked. There’s no telling when Level 2 will be open, but it should be available soon, given that the event is only active for a limited time. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait around for it to unlock, as you can get diamonds through the following ways:

  • Defeat hostile mobs
  • Open chests in the dungeons/spawners
  • Eliminate the Piglin Brute mini-boss
  • Pick up from fallen players

Zombies, spiders, and Creepers can sometimes reward you with a diamond drop. Take them down using the Battle Axe to see how your luck turns out. If you want a much more guaranteed way, the Piglin Brutes seem to drop these gems upon elimination. As a mini-dungeon boss, they’re much more challenging than regular mobs, possibly killing you with a single blow.

A Piglin Brute will also send out other hostile mobs toward you, so keep an eye on your surroundings. I find it best to keep your distance and shoot it with a bow or eliminate it with other crafters in the Mines. Speaking of other players, you can pick up piles of diamonds left from their bodies. Sucks for them, but hey, at least you can honor their memory and put their resources to good use.

Conquering dungeons is the last way to get diamonds in the Minecraft Movie Event. You can find one of these spawners on the pathway to the Cactus Ball hidden collectible. There are also plenty of other dungeons in the Mines to give you more ground to cover. Once there, eliminate any mobs and destroy the spawners with your pickaxe to keep the enemy away from you.

Look for chests to discover some diamonds inside. While they aren’t guaranteed there, you can still acquire random pieces of treasure to boost your points in the Mines minigame. Whether you’ve collected diamonds or other rare ore, you must return to the starting area to transfer your rewards. If you don’t, any items you’ve collected will disappear instantly. Although you can’t use these diamonds to make armor and weapons, you can go to Midport Village to purchase these upgrades with Emeralds.

Once Level 2 opens in the Mines, there will likely be another way to get diamonds. Some rumors have suggested that it will be available with the debut of Quest 6, considering that it involves collecting 100 diamonds. I’ll keep checking the servers and update this guide when these quests are live.
