There are a lot of crafting ingredients in Final Fantasy XIV, and more were added with Dawntrail, so it can be hard to figure out exactly where to get what you need. If you’re working through Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries, this becomes even more bothersome.
Once you know where to look, all of the ingredients for these recipes are actually pretty easy to get, and if you’re working your way through Xeerol Ja’s Juicecraft quests, then you’ll need to know how to get FFXIV’s Branchbearer Fruit.
How to farm Branchbearer Fruit in Final Fantasy XIV
Contrary to the name, what you’re looking for isn’t actually a fruit, and you won’t be able to find it as a Botanist — trust me, I tried. Instead, you’ll need to head to the dark southern half of Yak T’el to find Dawntrail’s glowing enemies, Branchbearers.
They’re found in a relatively large area around (X:14.2, Y:28.3), and they’re hard to miss when you combine their size and the fact that they quite literally light the area around them from within themselves. They’re actually rather pretty to look at, at least until they try to kill you.
The Branchbearer in the area are all level 94, so they’re not the most difficult of enemies to take down. While the drop rate of Branchbearer Fruit isn’t particularly high, there are a large number of them in the area and with upto three Fruit dropping from each you can get a good stockpile this way.
However, don’t mistake the local A Rank Hunt Mark Starcrier for a Branchbearer. While it looks similar to one, it glows a purple-pink color, is much larger, and is a level 100 monster. It also doesn’t drop Branchbearer Fruit, sadly.
How to get Branchbearer Fruit with Bicolor Gemstones
Even if you’ve only ever completed one FATE in Yak T’el, you’ll be able to visit the local Gemstone Trader called Rral Wuruq in Iq Br’aax (X:13.7, Y:12.7). Here, you’ll be able to buy Branchbearer Fruit for 3 Bicolor Gemstones each.
If you’ve completed your Shared FATEs in all Dawntrail areas, you’ll have access to the two city-state Gemstone Vendors, who also sell Branchbearer Fruit for the same price. They can be found in the following locations:
- Beryl in Solution Nine (X:8.4, Y:14.0)
- Kajeel Ja in Tuliyollal (X:12.8, Y:13.0)
Other ways to get Branchbearer Fruit in Final Fantasy XIV
If your retainers have hit at least level 94, and provided they have the correct jobs, there is a slim chance that they can bring back some Branchbearer Fruit from the following ventures:
- Level 94 Hunting Ventures
- Level 95 Field Exploration Ventures
However, this is far from guaranteed and you’ll get a maximum of 15 Branchbearer Fruit from an 18 hour Venture. On the other hand, if you get 16 Bicolor Gemstones per FATE, you’ll only need to complete three FATEs in order to get the same amount of Branchbearer Fruit.
How to use Branchbearer Fruit in Final Fantasy XIV
The main use for Branchbearer Fruit is for Ja Tiika Juice, which is needed to complete the level 95 Culinarian/Alchemist quest as part of Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries. To make it, you’ll need the following ingredients:
