There are a variety of different eggs that can be obtained in Stardew Valley and each of them hatches a bird to match its color. One egg is obtained through a random event involving a flying visit from a witch, yes you read that right. Here’s how to get a Void Egg.
There are two Villagers who count Void Eggs among their loved gifts:
- Sebastian
- Krobus
So it’s worth knowing how to get them. Unfortunately, they cannot be purchased, and, for the most part, getting your first one is purely up to chance.
How to get a Void Egg
For a chance at getting a Void Egg, you need to make sure you have a Big or Deluxe Chicken Coop and that there is at least one empty space in the building, fit for a Chicken. If you’ve ticked these boxes, you just have to wait for a Witch to pay her very literal flying visit. This event has a 1% chance of occurring, so don’t be discouraged if she doesn’t show up immediately.
This Witch is the one who leaves a Void Egg in your Coop. If you see a cutscene of a Witch flying over once you end a day, run to your Coop in the morning and you’ll find a Void Egg waiting for you.
Once you’ve got a Void Egg, it’ll need to be incubated. To do this, you’ll need to put it inside the Hatchery in a level 2 coop. Once it’s hatched, simply take it out of the Hatchery and you’ll have a shiny new Void Chicken who will lay more Void Eggs.

Other than giving them as a gift, you can also make Void Mayonnaise which, after the 1.6 update, you can now drink. I wouldn’t recommend it though, as it actually removes 75 Energy. Your best bet is to farm for Void Mayonnaise, as it sells for 275 Gold each.
