What causes the Your Account Does Not Have Access error?

In normal circumstances, this error is intended to indicate that the account you have logged into for Path of Exile 2 does not have access to the game. This means you either have not purchased a Founder’s Pack or have not received access from your previous support of the original Path of Exile. If you have, it could mean you redeemed the key on a separate account and simply need to login to the proper one where you have been flagged for access to the game.

However, at the time of launch on December 6, 2024, some users may be incorrectly receiving the ‘Your Account Does Not Have Access’ error when trying to access PoE2. After delaying the launch briefly, the servers eventually went online around 3:15 PM EST but were brought back offline after about 20 minutes. According to developer Grinding Gear Games, a configuration problem led to some multiple characters sharing the same character ID, so the servers were brought back down to isolate the issue and implement a fix.

As such, some players have been receiving the ‘Your Account Does Not Have Access’ error even though they do indeed have access simply because the servers are unexpectedly down right now while the maintenance is carried out.

Once the servers are back online and stable, if you are still receiving the ‘Your Account Does Not Have Access’ error when trying to login to Path of Exile 2, you will need to purchase an Early Access Founder’s Pack. Even though PoE2 will eventually fully release as F2P, you do need a Founder’s Pack to play Early Access.

Make sure you redeem the code don’t he platform in which you got it, as well as on the Path of Exile 2 website when you are logged in. At the moment the website is down, but it should be back online once the maintenance is completed.

If you are sure you do have access, it just means you need to wait until the PoE2 servers are back online so it can verify that you have access to the game via your account which will then allow you to login successfully.
