How to fix loading stuck at 99 in Marvel Rivals

If it's not Jeff screwing me, it's this loading screen.

PC players on Marvel Rivals may experience getting stuck at 99 percent loaded when playing most of their matches in the game. Itā€™s a nasty bug that will most likely force you to miss a match and receive penalties.

In any case, here is a solution to this problem right now in the game.

How to fix loading stuck at 99 in Marvel Rivals

There are a few fixes that may work for you if youā€™re experiencing the 99 percent loaded screen in Marvel Rivals. Note that the experience has worked for some, but not all.

Make sure your specs meet the minimum requirements or higher

While this is something you should ensure before even installing the game, head over to the gameā€™s steam page to see the system requirements. The following is the minimum youā€™d need to run the game, although itā€™s recommended to have something more capable than this per Steam:

  •    OS: Windows 10 64-bit (1909 or newer)
  •     Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  •     Memory: 16 GB RAM
  •     Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX 580 / Intel Arc A380
  •     DirectX: Version 12
  •     Network: Broadband Internet connection
  •     Storage: 70 GB available space

Install the game on an SSD

Since the game can be demanding, it should be a no-brainer to run this game on an SSD. Having it on a hard drive can net a few problems, like slower load times and the nasty 99 percent bug.

Players have reported this to be a fix, but there may be one more caveat to this.

Install the game on your main Drive

Similar to other games like Valorant where the program will not run depending on where you install it, Marvel Rivals seems to do something similar. If you arenā€™t running it on your C: drive, you may be running into this issue more.

This can be an annoyance because many people have a second drive on their PCs that are already SSDs. Try installing the gameā€™s files to your main drive rather than external or non-main ones.

Cleanly reinstall the game

If you participated in the Closed Alpha or Beta of the game, some files still may have been left in from Temp or %AppData% folders.

Clear anything Marvel Rivals-related in these places, along with uninstalling the game.

Perform a fresh installation of the game once you have gotten rid of all the files.

Wait it out

If everything still does not work, try waiting it out when the annoying 99 percent window comes up. The problem may fix itself and let you play, although itā€™s inconsistent or may make you miss the first attack or setup of a match.
