With the popularity of Diablo 4 season 1, the servers have become congested. This has resulted in a new error.

Like most server-related error messages, you often have to wait it out as more players get into the game. Getting the error when you’re trying to get into Diablo 4 and check out the new season can be very frustrating. Therefore, we’ve put together some tips on how to fix error code 34202 in Diablo 4.

What is error code 34202?

Error code 34202 is an annoying Diablo 4 error message that essentially means there was an issue with connecting. To make things worse, this error can also kick you out of the queue and even out of the game. It’s typically followed up with the message “Server Not Available” followed by a black screen as you are booted from the game.

This error code can appear on all platforms including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

How to fix error code 34202 in Diablo 4

Unfortunately, usually this error is just due to server congestion as a lot of players are trying to join Diablo 4 at once. If this is the case, your best option is to simply wait a few minutes and try again.

In some cases, however, this may actually be a networking issue on your end. If so, there are a few things you can try to see if it fixes error code 34202 in Diablo 4.

1. Make sure your internet connection is stable. This includes checking to make sure your ISP is not currently experiencing some sort of outage. If you are on Wi-Fi, try connecting directly and see if using a wired connection fixes the issue.
2. Double-check that you are on the latest version. We just got a new update with patch 1.1.0 for season 1. If you are on an old version, there can be issues when authenticating with the Diablo 4 server. You can usually fix this by simply closing the game completely and relaunching it through the platform you are playing on.
3. Check the official BlizzardCS twitter. Blizzard will post on here if there are any specific issues going on that may be causing you to have trouble connecting.

If you’ve tried all of these things and are still having trouble, you may just need to wait. Once the servers aren’t as overloaded, you should no longer receive error code 34202.
