Each new Call of Duty season typically requires various patches, starting with a fairly sizeable file upon launch. Unfortunately, many players have encountered an issue that has forbidden them from accessing the newest content. So, if you are currently having problems with the network, here’s how to fix the Call of Duty not updating issue.
Call of Duty not updating solution
MW3 and Warzone Season 3 update loads have been running relatively slowly for many users. More specifically, full downloads for Battle.net players are not working. To fix the Call of Duty not updating issue, use the following techniques:
- Restart game
- Ensure that your internet connection is stable
- Check the Call of Duty servers on DownDetector or Activision
- Wait until the servers clear up or a new update arrives
I ran to the Call of Duty not updating problem, presenting an almost endless loop of a ‘Check for updates” load. However, once I restarted the game, the patch was finally installed after a few attempts.
If you’ve initiated the usual steps of checking your internet connection, you may need to wait it out while the servers clear up. New seasons always seem to cause laggy performances and error codes, especially with the MW3 and Warzone Season 3 release. Currently, Activision Online Services indicate that Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are experiencing outages with the network.
On the bright side, the Call of Duty Updates Twitter/X account created a Trello card for the Call of Duty not updating PC issues. Console players could still encounter the problem, so it’s best to wait until a new update comes through.
