You can find the Thunderbolt of Zeus weapon as floor or chest loot or as a drop from Zeus on Mount Olympus. Fighting Zeus as Mount Olympus’ boss can also grant you the Aspect of Speed, but it’s a challenging fight at a hotspot where other players can interrupt you. If you prefer avoiding boss fights, you can search chests, particularly Olympus and Underworld chests, for a chance to find this weapon.

The Thunderbolt of Zeus is a Mythic-grade weapon in Fortnite, making it much rarer than your average gun or consumable. However, similar to weapons like the Chains of Hades, you’ll often find at least one if you survive long enough to explore a few landmarks or encounter several rare treasure chests.

How to use the Thunderbolt of Zeus in Fortnite

Once you have your Thunderbolt of Zeus, it’ll appear in your hotbar like a regular weapon, ready to use. To use it, hold the bolt and aim your crosshair at another player or enemy before pressing your attack button. Upon pressing attack, your character will jump into the air and throw multiple bolts down in the direction you’re facing, damaging any enemies and structures you hit before launching one final, massive blow. Doing this uses one of your three charges.

The downside? You’re vulnerable to attacks while in this state. Although you’re up in the air and quickly inflicting large amounts of damage, you’re not in an immune state while doing this. In other words, someone can damage and even eliminate you during your attack, even if you’re damaging them back. Your best bet is to target someone unaware of your presence or to avoid using the bolt when you’re low health unless you absolutely have to.
