Towards the end of Chapter 2 of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, things are heating up, and the police are turning their attention in the direction of Moses. In order to save him from (mostly) false accusations, you’ll need to use all of your powers, including a new one.
Safi’s camera is a vital piece of evidence in the investigation of her death, but the police don’t have it. Why? Because Moses does. He took it on the night of her murder, and has been stashing it away in his office ever since.
Unfortunately, he isn’t going to be much help because he’s being watched intently by Detective Alderman. The only thing you have to go on is that the camera is in his secret hiding place, which would be useful, if we knew where that was.
How to get Safi’s camera back in Life is Strange: Double Exposure
This is a long and complicated quest, and you’re going to be doing a lot of hopping between the Living and Dead Worlds. To get away from Alderman and into Moses’ office, you’ll need to find the portal by the side door to his office. Once you’ve in the Living World, walk straight into Moses’ office to find him working on building a telescope.
Eventually, you’ll offer to help and he’ll ask you to get him an Allen Wrench. You won’t be able to find this in the Living World, so use the portal near the kitchen in his office to go back to the Dead World. Find the Allen Key on the table near the kitchen, and then pop back through the portal to give it to Moses.
After some discussion, Moses will offer you a cup of tea. This will be your first glimpse of the secret hiding place in the Living World. While Moses is busy on his computer, take the key from above the secret hiding place and then go back through the portal to the Dead World.
In the Dead World, you’ll find a note inside the secret hiding place saying “under safe”. You’ll need to go back to the Living World, and ask Moses whether he has a safe in the office. He’ll tell you about a star that makes up part of the Orion constellation — Saiph. With things coming together, head back to the Dead World and head upstairs to find the Star Projector. Make note of the portal nearby, you’ll be needing it in just a few minutes.
You’ll need to line up the Star Projector as it was when Safi and Moses painted the Gemini twins on the wall. This is easy to do, just make sure that your projection is lined up as below:
Now we need to figure out exactly where Saiph is as part of Orion. To do this, head back downstairs and make your way towards the mural wall, then interact with “Atlas of the Stars” on its stand. Saiph is the star in the bottom left of Orion, and can be found directly to your left, above the barrels.
Interact with Saiph, and you’ll see a grate below it. Safi’s camera is in here, but you can’t get it just yet, because this is when things start to get dicey. Detective Alderman has finally gained access to the office and you’ll now have to avoid his detection while trying to get your hands on the camera.
The only way you can do this is by causing a distraction, and what better way than using the noisy Christmas tree decoration to cause a ruckus. Go back to the Living World using the portal near the kitchen, then head over to the Christmas tree and take the decoration.
Take it upstairs and use the portal back to the Dead World, place the distraction, and then go back to the Living World through the same portal.
In the living world, walk downstairs and use the portal by the kitchen to get back to the Dead World, then interact with the barrels. At this point, Max will learn another power — Displacement. This allows her to switch items between dimensions, and the telescope parts in the Dead World will switch with the fully built telescope from the Living World.
This will give Max access to the grate, and allow you to get Safi’s camera back. With it secured in the bag, use the portal to get to the Living World and then leave the office, using the portal near the side door to get back to the Dead World. Then, make your way back to Moses and get him off the hook.
