There are many various weather conditions and survival mechanics youā€™ll run into when playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One of the most frustrating and difficult-to-avoid problems is slippery walls. Anytime it is raining in the game, climbing a wall is pretty much a no-go. But you can alleviate this problem with Sticky Frogs.

How to farm Sticky Frogs in Tears of the Kingdom

Sticky Frogs are one of the more elusive ingredients you can find in Tears of the Kingdom. There are several types of frogs in this game and this is one of the most uncommon versions. They are noted by their blue body, red legs, and large yellow eyes.

They are quite easy to miss, too, due to their tendency to hang out on the walls and cliffs of caverns and mountains. In general, there are two main regions where you want to look for Sticky Frogs: the West Necluda region and the Lanaryu Great Spring area.

More specifically, one of the best spots to farm for Sticky Frogs in Tears of the Kingdom is just southeast of Kakariko Village. Follow the main road out of the town until you reach the coordinates of approximately (1957, -1063, 0131).

When you arrive here, what you want to look on the walls of the mountains that are surrounding you on this main road. You can usually spot these Sticky Frogs hanging out up there. All you need to do then is start climbing the walls towards them and press A to collect them once you are close enough.

Fortunately, the one benefit of searching for Sticky Frogs is that they arenā€™t as skittish as the other frog variants. So long as you find and climb up to get one, you generally are able to catch it without too much trouble.

What to do with Sticky Frogs

The main purpose of Sticky Frogs is to cook them up for a Sticky Elixir. This elixir gives you a period of time where you wonā€™t slip while climbing. To do this, youā€™ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 Sticky Frog
  • 1 monster part

The extra monster part can be pretty much anything that drops from a random monster, such as a Bokoblin Horn or Keese Eyeball. The Sticky Elixir is a fantastic solution for players who donā€™t yet have the Froggy Armor set from the lengthyĀ Gazette storyline.

This elixir allows you to climb during rain without slipping and falling for a short time. It is best to stock up on plenty of Sticky Frogs so you are always prepared for sudden weather changes.
