The annual Dawning event in Destiny 2 is here, and if you’re into farming items, it’s sure to be a great time. If you’re not, then let’s hope the RNG gods are on your side. One of the most frustrating ingredients to get is Personal Touch. Here’s what you need to know to get your hands on some.
How to get Personal Touch in Destiny 2
As a rare ingredient, the drop rate for Personal Touch is much lower than that of common ingredients. While collecting it for myself, I killed somewhere in the region of 200-300 enemies and only received a measly three pieces of Personal Touch. Luckily, the recipes that do require it typically only need one piece. So, how do you get it?
Personal Touch only has a chance of dropping when you kill enemies with melee attacks. That makes it one of the harder rare ingredients to farm since you really need to be trying to get it. You might want to combine getting Personal Touch with another objective, such as getting snowball kills for the Albedo Wing.
When farming Personal Touch, I went to the Trostland area of the European Dead Zone, but you can get it anywhere as long as you’re using melee attacks. I like the EDZ because there are a lot of spawning enemies in a relatively small space, which is pretty useful when you’re trying to punch everyone to death.
If you’re lucky, when you kill an enemy with a melee attack, you’ll see the Personal Touch symbol appear on the right side of your screen. You can check how much Personal Touch you’ve collected by opening Eva’s Holiday Oven 2.1 and navigating to the rare ingredients section pictured above.
Happy hunting!
