How to Exit the Catacombs and Open the Gate

Whether you sneak past the Fascists or choose to take them out directly via combat, you’ll eventually reach a closed gate with the quest objective to Exit the Catacombs. If you look at your quest marker indicator, it will show that you need to exit via the closed gate, but there’s no indication of how to do so. While most locked doors or gates will tell you how to open them when you interact with themā€”such as saying it’s locked from the other side or requires a keyā€”this gate offers no such information.

Look around this room and you will find a big Roman-style head and torso bust of a man wearing a toga. You have probably encountered these in various places and wondered their purpose. Before now, the only use of them has been to slam over someone’s head to take them out.

However, to Exit the Catacombs, you need to pick up the bust and place it on the pedestal located to the left of the Catacombs Gate. As long as you pick up the bust and then approach the pedestal, it will give you the option to interact with it to place the bust on top of the pedestal. Putting the bust on the pedestal will open the gate and allow you to finally Exit the Catacombs.
