How to execute a finishing move in MW2 and Warzone

Fatality.

There are many ways to take someone out in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, despite being an FPS. Sure, you can use a gun from far away, but you could also blow someone up, knife them up close, throw a knife at them, or even use a finishing move.

Finishing moves in MW2 and Warzone are some of the most hilarious and embarrassing ways to eliminate another player. While it isn’t the most practical way to do so, it certainly is as flashy as can be. Here’s what you need to know about how to humiliate your opponents using a finishing move in MW2 and Warzone alike.

How to use a finishing move in MW2 and Warzone

Fortunately, it doesn’t matter if you are playing Modern Warfare 2, Warzone, or even DMZ, you’re going to have the same input for doing a finishing move in these games. Here’s what you should press to use this special move, depending on your platform and input device:

  • Mouse and keyboard players: Press and hold down V on the keyboard. This is the default keybind but you can change this in the settings.
  • Controller players: Press and hold down on the right thumb stick by default if you are using a controller. This is the same across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

However, knowing the button you need to press for a finishing move doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to do it. There are some other requirements you must meet first. First and foremost, you must be in melee range from the player you wish to embarrassingly take down.

In addition, you’ll have to come up behind them or else the finishing move won’t work. Finally, you must hold down the associated button or else you will simply swipe at them with your knife or punch them with the end of your gun.

Worse, if you only punch someone or knife at them, you aren’t guaranteed to eliminate them instantly. It can take two hits to defeat them this way, whereas a finishing move is guaranteed to knock them out for good.

There are many finishing moves you can unlock and equip for your loadout in the game. You can unlock them through the Battle Pass or even purchase them optionally in the in-game store.

No matter what, though, choose carefully when you want to flip your opponent over and eliminate them in a stylish manner. You are vulnerable during the few seconds it takes to do the finishing move animation. Use it sparingly or else you might have the tables turned on you.
