I don’t know about you reading this, but I love a good cup of tea. If you can say the same, there’s a good chance you have a Sinistea or Polteageist in your party (or boxes) in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. And, if this is true, you likely also remember the convoluted method of evolving Sinistea into Polteageist. I sure hope you enjoyed said convoluted process, because it’s making an unwelcome return in The Teal Mask DLC.
That’s right — if you manage to capture a Polchageist (note the first evolutionary form this time around is named after the second evolutionary form of its Paldean variant) and want to evolve it into Sinistcha, you’ll once again need to know its variant and have a specific item on hand. Because it’s Pokemon, and they don’t want the trainer to complain about it being too easy, now do they?
How to evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha in The Teal Mask
So, you have a Poltchageist and would like to evolve it into Sinistcha? First, you’ll need to learn what form your Poltchageist is. There are two different forms, and one is much more prevalent in the wild than the other. The two forms are: Counterfeit, and Artisan, and you can learn which one you have by looking underneath them in the Pokedex.
Before I go on to explain what item you’ll need, I want to emphasize that a Counterfeit Poltchageist is perfectly valid! Unless you fashion yourself a shiny hunter and have time to catch a lot of Poltchageists, there is no need to stress about it. There aren’t two separate slots in the Pokedex for both variants of this ‘mon, so all you need is to catch one of them for it to count towards regional completion.
That said, to evolve Poltchageist into Sinistcha, you’ll need one of two items depending on which form you have. If you have a Counterfeit Form Poltchageist, you’ll need the Unremarkable Teacup, while if you have an Artisan Form Poltchageist, you’ll need the Masterpiece Teacup.
As soon as you have obtained whichever item variant is needed, use it on your Poltchageist and you’ll have yourself a Sinistcha! It’s worth noting, however, that Sinistcha has two forms as well — if you had a Counterfeit Form Poltchageist, it’ll evolve into an Unremarkable Form Sinistcha, while an Artisan Form Poltchageist will evolve into a Masterpiece Form Sinistcha. Happy hunting, trainers!
