For BitLife’s Tortured Artist Challenge, your first objective is to create a female born in Illinois. To do this, create a female character whose starting country is the United States and whose starting place is Chicago. Chicago is the most populous city in Illinois, making it an ideal starting spot.

Once you create your character, age up as usual until she’s old enough to have social media accounts. While you won’t need them yet, starting a social media account early will help you finish the final task later.

How to become a painter

You have two choices for becoming a painter in BitLife: check the full-time job list until you see apprentice painter, or get an art degree from university before pursuing the role. You’re not required to obtain a degree, but it’ll help you narrow your options later.

Once your character turns 18 and unlocks full-time jobs, check the list until you see a painter. If it doesn’t appear immediately, close and re-open the app or age up and recheck the list. Once you see painter, apply for the job and pass the interview to become a painter. From here, you can try to become famous to make the rest of this challenge easier, but it’s not required.

Insulting and trolling people in BitLife

Next, you’ll have to insult and troll people. Insulting others in BitLife is easy; if your character has friends, insult them until you complete the task. Otherwise, you can insult siblings, coworkers, or people you meet during random pop-up events. Regardless, dish out some insults to quickly finish the third task.

Trolling on social media is slightly more challenging, requiring them to troll you first. The best way to do this is to become famous and have a social media account with a high follower count. With this, people will frequently troll your account, allowing you to troll them back.

Developing and recovering from an alcohol addiction in BitLife

The last part of this challenge is developing an alcohol addiction. There are three main ways to do this:

  1. Accept random requests to consume alcohol
  2. Visit nightclubs
  3. Party with friends

While I typically choose the third option, the first is an easy way if you see a random pop-up from a character asking you to drink. If they do, accept the offer for a chance to develop an addiction. Otherwise, you can also visit nightclubs until the bartender offers you a drink.

After she develops an addiction, go to activities, choose rehab, and pick one of the three options. All three have their own benefits, but going to AA meetings is a quick and easy way. Recover from the addiction to wrap up the Tortured Artist challenge inĀ BitLife.
