In the third act of Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s a lot to do, and much of it is entirely optional. For example, did you know there’s an additional dungeon and boss you can complete, and it’s one of the hardest in the game? It’s true! You just have to talk with Raphael.
You know, Raphael! The cambion devil who’s been practically stalking you all over Faerun! That Raphael! But, this guide isn’t meant to tell you how to complete the entire dungeon and optional boss. I already did that. No, this guide is more specifically on how to complete the ritual at the Devil’s Fee, which serves as the first step in getting to the additional dungeon. It begins with a shop owner named Helsik and ends with you opening a portal to hell by completing a summoning ritual. Fun!
How to complete the Helsik Ritual in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)
To start the summoning ritual, you’ll first need to get your hands on the Grimoire Bound in Imp Skin, an item held by Helsik, the owner of the Devil’s Fee in the north of the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate. You can obtain this item however you wish. I chose to kill Helsik and the golden minions she summons.
If you then head upstairs to Helsik’s Room, you’ll find the pre-drawn summoning circle, but it’ll need a few items before the portal will open. You should be able to find all necessary items somewhere in this room and its connecting rooms, so make sure you’re looting absolutely everything. You’ll need to find a Skull, a Coin of Mammon, a Diamond, some Incense, and an Infernal Marble.
To sufficiently complete the ritual and open the portal to the optional dungeon, you’ll need to place the skull on the arrow pointing due west, the Coin of Mammon on the arrow pointing northwest, the Diamond on the arrow pointing northeast, the Incense on the arrow pointing southeast, and the Infernal Marble needs to be placed at the center of the circle. As soon as this is done, the portal will open, and you’ll be free to enter the additional dungeon, if you so choose.
