Many players logged into this week’s reset of World of Warcraft: The War Within anxious to pick their weekly quest only to discover the quest had been chosen for them. Everyone has received the quest Archives: The First Disc this week which is either a bug or an underthought due to this being the final week before the season begins. Here is how you can complete the Archives: The First Disc weekly quest in WoW The War Within to finish your weekly.
Fastest way to get Discs and complete Archives: The First Disc quest
The fastest way to actually complete the weekly Archives: The First Disc quest seems to be just running dungeons with followers. You need 10 discs in total, and running The Rookery, for example, with your followers, will net you 15 Discs per boss kill. Therefore, you can run The Rookery three times very quickly with your followers and you will get all 100 discs and complete the Archives: The First Disc quest.
If for some reason you don’t like The Rookery, all dungeons seem to give 15 discs per boss kill, so really you can run whichever dungeon you want. The Dawnbreaker dungeon is also a quick and easy one if you just want to get in and get out to earn your Discs for the quest.
Why can you only do Archives: The First Disc this week in The War Within?
If you’ve been following along with the Khaz Algar Emissary storyline and completing your weekly Worldsoul quests, you may have noticed that this week your only option is to do Archives: The First Disc. Don’t worry, you’re not bugged, at least it shouldn’t be. For whatever reason Blizzard has chosen for this week to specifically be the Archives: The First Disc quest, which is technically preseason or Week 0 of the season start, with Season 1 officially starting next week.
Abandoning the quest will not give you any other options, and if you have the Archives: The First Disc quest, it will be the only weekly Khaz Algar Emissary quest that you can do this week.
