How to complete Serenade to Kaysa quest in Tears of the Kingdom

Music brings out the best in us

Getting Great Fairies on your side is a big deal inĀ The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The powerful beings have become reclusive, and so if Link wants armor upgrades, he’ll need to get them to re-emerge through the power of music. So it goes in the Serenade to Kaysa quest, anyways.

Serenade to Kaysa is a side adventure inĀ Tears of the KingdomĀ that tasks the player with assisting the Stable Trotters. This roving band of musicians is traveling to different Great Fairy Fountains, attempting to play music and encourage the fairies to emerge. But for each, you’ll need to help them bring a band member back into the fold, as well as get them to the gig itself. No easy days for the Hero of Time.

How to start Serenade to Kaysa inĀ TOTK

First off, if you’re looking to get more Great Fairies, you’ll need to have completed the introductory quest Serenade to a Great Fairy already. That’s part of the Lucky Clover Gazette quest line, Potential Princess Sightings. (You won’t need to finish the whole quest line, though.)

After you’ve opened that up, you can head to any of the other stables near Great Fairy locations to start their respective quests. For a Serenade to Kaysa, we’re headed to the Outskirt Stable, southwest of Lookout Landing.

Once there, the maestro will apprise you of the situation. The band will need a flutist, and they’re currently without one. Link will need to track them down, in the quest A Flute Player’s Plan. Complete that, and you’re ready to move on.

Now that the band is back together, with a flute player in tow, you’ll need to get them and their cart to the gig. Once again, the Trotters have crashed their cart. It really seems to happen a lot.

Rather than a horse, though, you’ll need some off-road power. I recommend grabbing the nearby wheels and some Hudson Construction wood, and slapping together a makeshift musical monster truck.

Let the Stable Trotters pile in, and be very careful approaching the cliffside. While you’ll need to roll over some rubble, tilting too far in any direction will create some panic at the disco, leading the band to bail out. Take things nice and easy, on a standard slope, and you should be fine.

Once you’ve reached the bulb, the band will play and Kaysa will emerge. Appreciate the rupee reward and another Great Fairy added to the armor upgrade arsenal. Whether this is your first or last, having all the Great Fairies back in Hyrule makes a big difference in regard to Link’s survivability, so it’s worth seeking them out.
