How to complete Rescue Zariel’s Asset in Baldur’s Gate 3

Careful how you deal with the devil.

Helping out Wyll inĀ Baldur’s Gate 3Ā will ultimately result in the Warlock needing to rescue a certain asset of Zariel’s for his patron, Mizora. As you progress deeper into Moonrise Towers, and learn more about what’s been happening in the Shadow-Cursed Lands, you’ll also make a curious discovery about who this asset really is.

If you’re worried about getting this quest done before the point-of-no-return, don’t fret. You can only rescue Zariel’s asset in a location that’s specifically for the finale of Act 2. So if you’re finishing up everything before heading into the Shadowfell in the Gauntlet of Shar, it’s okay to still have this quest on your to-do log. The conclusion lies right alongside the end of the act. (Minor story spoilersĀ to follow.)

Where to find Zariel’s asset inĀ Baldur’s Gate 3

After being given the quest to rescue Zariel’s asset from Mizora in camp during Act 2 ofĀ Baldur’s Gate 3, you won’t be able to complete the task until you’re in the Mind Flayer Colony. This is a special area that opens up after the first fight with Ketheric, at the end of Act 2.

The location is in the Tadpoling Center, as marked on your map. On the way here, you can stop off to fight some mind flayers and save Zevlor too. Thankfully, Zariel’s asset doesn’t have quite so much protection to handle. Just head towards the pod.

As you discover, Zariel’s asset is Mizora herself. The fiend got captured, and now needs your help. At this point, you might be tempted to enact a little justice, potentially freeing Wyll from his contract. Resist the urge to hit the bad button, though.Ā If Mizora dies here, Wyll gets dragged down to the Hells.

Instead, you can negotiate for the end of Wyll’s contact. Mizora will agree, though as she stipulates, his contract with her will conclude after six months. Faustian bargains always have loopholes.

If you want to learn more about Wyll’s bargain though, Mizora has now loosened the restrictions to allow you to speak to him about it. So at the very least, you get some lore. That, plusĀ notĀ sending Wyll to the fires of Avernus, seem like solid enough outcomes.
