No sweat

In Path of Exile 2, you can encounter a few confusing quests at the beginning, and the Ancient Vows is certainly on top.

I am sure that we will encounter plenty of hard missions that are part of the mid and late-game. But most of the early game quests are pretty straightforward – you can just follow the basic instructions to complete them. The main problem with Ancient Vows is the lack of any available information, and it triggers in a random fashion (at least that’s how I understood it).

This specific quest begins in Act 2 of the main storyline. You can find a Sun Clan Relic while clearing the enemies in The Bone Pits. This relic is dropped at random by killing an enemy, and you won’t find any further instructions. What the game doesn’t tell you is that there is another relic that you have to get to proceed to the next step.

You get the Sun Clan Relic as a random enemy drop. This can be quite quick or take some time, and it depends on your luck. Keep eliminating enemies till you find it. You also need the Kabala Clan Relic. This relic can be obtained by defeating enemies in Keth, and the process is also random.

After you’ve found both relics, go to the Valley of the Titans. This spot is present in the southern part of the desert, and there’s a waypoint present nearby. If it’s activated, just use fast travel to save your energy and time.

You’ll discover a staircase that leads up to an altar called Medallion. Your cue will be an area banner that says ‘Offering to Amrit”; if that happens, you’ve reached the correct spot. At the Medallion altar, place both relics from your inventory. This will complete the Ancient Vows quest and offer two buffs.

  • 15% Mana Recovery from Flasks
  • 30% Increased Charm Charges gained

You can only activate one buff at a time, but they’re permanent. You can always return to this spot to switch the active buff. While the buffs are not necessary to have, they will make your life easier as you face some of the more challenging enemies and bosses.
