How to claim expedition rewards in your main save in No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is a game with limitless possibilities, offering almost all you could ask from a video game about space. Released in 2016, the game is still going strong, having just received a new Worlds Part I update that introduced a new expedition.

From the looks of it, Hello Games is not looking to slow down, with more updates bound to arrive. Expeditions in No Man’s Sky offer players the unique opportunity to engage themselves in a new storyline filled with quests and challenges to complete on undiscovered planets and solar systems.

Players have to embark on Expeditions on new saves, meaning they cannot take on new challenges with their already loaded-up upgrades and inventory, adding another layer of difficulty to the mix. Moreover, this can potentially discourage new players in No Man’s Sky who might be under the opinion that all their hard-earned rewards will now be on a new save, but that’s not the case.

Expedition rewards in No Man’s Sky can be claimed on your main save, meaning that you get to take on a new challenge in a new save, and then bring all the sweet rewards back with you to enjoy in your main save.

How to transfer technology and cargo from expedition to main save in No Man’s Sky

1. First, you need to load up your Expedition save and complete all objectives you wish to.
2. Once you have all the Expedition rewards you want, head to the Space Anomaly.
3. Any spaceship or exosuit upgrades that you have earned during the expedition can be brought back to your main save. Simply uninstall these upgrades and move them to your exosuit inventory.
4. Get off your spaceship and head to the Expedition Terminus. It is located on the entrance floor itself, meaning you do not have to go inside the Space Anomaly complex to look for it.
5. Access the Expedition Terminus.
6. Choose to End Expedition and then select Accept to confirm.
7. Once you accept, you will now get to select which Technology and Cargo items you can take back to your main save. In total, you can bring back 8 technologies and 24 items from your Cargo inventory. All other expedition rewards unlocked through quests and milestones will automatically be accessible in your main save, so don’t worry if you do not find rewards such as new skins and spaceships to select here.
8. Upon completing the expedition, you will be granted Nanites, Units, and Quicksilver based on your progress and achievements in the expedition.
9. Choose Finish Expedition.

How to claim Expedition rewards on your main save in No Man’s Sky

Now that you have selected all the items and have ended your expedition in NMS, you will now be returned to your main save, and you will be spawning at the Space Anomaly.

1. Go to the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion at Space Anomaly.
2. Interact with the companion.
3. Choose the Collect expedition rewards option.
4. You will now be able to see and claim all the items you’ve earned during the expedition.
