How to change your character skin in Astro Bot

Cosplay as your favorite PlayStation characters.

Fellow players may aspire to cosplay as Jak or the Hunter, but during the opening levels of Astro Bot, you won’t be able to change your character skin. However, as you play through the game, you’ll eventually unlock the ability to change your bot’s look.

To get the ability to alter your character skin in Astro Bot, you’ll need to unlock the Changing Room. This is done by collecting 48 Puzzle Pieces that are laid across secret spots in each level. Once you’ve gained this many pieces, go back to your PS5 hub world. It will automatically build the Changing Room for you.

Enter inside and then you’ll see a few outfits available for the bot. Hit it with a punch and then your bot will change into the character’s clothes and unique look.

How to unlock new outfits in Astro Bot

Astro Bot has a bunch of new outfits to unlock. You can do this by visiting the Gatcha Lab. The outfits are retrieved from the golden boxes that you pull down and squeeze. You’ll also have to find and save the characters that inspire the outfit within each level like Jak, Sly Cooper, and Parappa the Rapper.

There are some bonus outfits if you’ve pre-ordered the game or got the Digital Deluxe edition. There’s also a skin for completing the Grand Master Challenge.

Hopefully, new skins will become available as new DLC launches. Stellar Blade and Helldivers bots can be found in the future free update this fall, so you might be able cosplay as them later.
