How to change your appearance in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Fix your ugly oops.

I know what itā€™s like. You spend hours in the character creator, just to find out your creation looks absolutely horrible in action or from certain angles. Good news, you donā€™t have to be stuck with that.

There is a way to change your appearance after the fact, and itā€™s not terribly far into the game. If you follow the main questline, shortly after the prologue, youā€™ll be taken to the capital city of Vernworth. Not long after that, youā€™ll be left to wander the streets. In the West of the Merchant Quarter, thereā€™s a barber called Clovisā€™s Barberie. Theyā€™re marked using a pair of sheers on the map. They provide the services to give your character a makeover. Beyond just your character, they can also update your pawnā€™s look.

Now, being that they are mere mortals, they can only change the cosmetics of your characterā€™s appearance, such as your hair, makeup, and markings. The prices for those services are rather high (especially early in the game) at about 10000 G each, or 25000 G for the freedom to change all three. What a deal!

However, there is a final service, which is to Modify Appearance. However, it doesnā€™t have a price. Instead, you need a special tome.

Where to find the Art of Metamorphosis in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The book you need is called the ā€œArt of Metamorphosis.ā€ You find it at the Vernworth Pawn Guild store near the riftstone in town. The downside is that it costs 500 RC (rift crystals), which you gain through your Pawn. Whenever someone hires your pawn, you can gain RC. However, they can be found through regular means, like quests. You also use RC to hire other playersā€™ pawns.

Once you have the Art of Metamorphosis, you can take it back to Clovisā€™s Barberie. You can then trade it to access the modify appearance feature, which will let you tweak your characterā€™s look. Note that this does include hairstyle and body markings, so you can use Art of Metamorphosis as an alternative to paying the high cost of looking good.
