There is a huge variety of different fish available to catch and catalog in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and they all have specific recipes that call for them. One of these fish, the Lancetfish, can be particularly elusive.
Although you should definitely cook your Lancetfish before consuming them, even some Lancetfish Sushi (not an actual recipe in DDLV) will net you 1,300 energy when consumed. Lancetfish is also a particularly lucrative fish to hunt for, with each selling to Goofy for 650 Star Coins.
As with all fish and items in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you can also use it as a decoration. It takes up a 2×1 area when placed. To put your Lancetfish on display, enter your inventory and drop it, then enter the furniture menu and move it to where you want it.
How to catch Lancetfish in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Lancetfish can only be caught in the Forgotten Lands, so you’ll need to unlock the area for 15,000 Dreamlight before you can get to fishing. With that done, you’ll need to look for blue ripples, which is where the problems begin.
There isn’t a lot of water in the Forgotten Lands, and because of this, there are very few fishing spots that can spawn in the biome. If you’re wanting to hoard a bunch of Lancetfish, or hoping to make a quick buck selling them, you’re likely going to have to make a few circuits of the area in order to empty out the rest of the fishing spots.
Lancetfish quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You’ll need to catch one Lancetfish as part of Prince Eric’s level 3 friendship quest “Part of His World” to make some Bait. You don’t actually need to make the Bait, just take the ingredients to Remy and he’ll do it for you.
All Lancetfish recipes in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Lancetfish is a necessary ingredient to make Lancetfish Paella, which calls for the following list of ingredients:
- 1 Lancetfish
- 1 Shrimp
- 1 of any Seafood
- 1 Tomato
- 1 Rice
When cooked, you can sell this meal for 1,653 Star Coins, which is a pretty hefty profit compared to the ingredients. When consumed, it will restore 4,550 energy, which is enough to completely fill your energy bar and then some. Lancetfish Paella is actually among the top three meals in terms of energy.
You can also use Lancetfish in any recipe that calls for one of any fish, although all of these will end up with you making a loss if you choose to use this expensive fish as the star ingredient:
