A new update made recoil nearly nonexistent.

The Holger 556 assault rifle has been right on the cusp of the Warzone meta for most of Season 3. However, other weapons have been superior for a few reasons. Now, with a small update on April 16, a slight Holger 556 buff makes it one of the best mid-to-long range options in the game.

How did the Call of Duty update improve the Holger 556?

With the recent update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, the Holger 556 got a little better. To be more specific, the update ‘adjusted recoil and gun kick to decrease deviation, allowing a more predictable pattern,’ according to the patch notes.

In short, this means it’ll be easier to control when you’re firing it. Instead of the recoil being all over the place and nearly uncontrollable at times, the Holger 556 now provides a predictable recoil pattern you can learn and easily adjust to while shooting. This instantly makes it one of the best ranged options in Warzone alongside the Ram-7 and SOA Subverter.

Despite a more predictable recoil pattern, every Holger 556 user will still need the optimal build for Warzone. As always with Call of Duty weapons, nothing is at its best until it has the best attachments. Here’s how to put together the best loadout for the newly buffed weapon:

  • VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor Muzzle
  • Chrios-6 Match Barrel
  • Bruen Heavy Support Grip Underbarrel
  • 40 Round Magazine
  • JAK Glassless Optic (or optic of your choosing)

With these attachments equipped, the Holger 556 delivers high damage, good bullet velocity, and very easy-to-control recoil. It’s easily capable of competing with any automatic weapon in the game at mid-to-long range, and should be one of your loadout options in Warzone thanks to the new update.
