How to break the Earth Seal in Fields of Mistria

Onwards and... Downwards?

Once you’ve broken through the Water Seal in the mines of Fields of Mistria, you’ll have 20 floors to clear before you encounter the priestess again and the next Seal — the Earth Seal.

Like with the Water Seal, you’ll need to get through this door before you can continue descending the floors of the Mines, which will allow you to get better resources for gear upgrades and crafting.

How to get through the Earth Seal in Fields of Mistria

You'll need to give in four specific items to get through the Earth Seal in Fields of Mistria

To get through this door and proceed further into the Mines, you’ll need to gather up the following items:

  • 1 Coral Mantis
  • 1 Sapphire
  • 1 Archerfish
  • 1 Jade Dulse

Like with the previous Seal, this one calls for items which can be gathered on the previous 20 floors, in this case that’s floors 21 to 40. If you’re unsure where to find any of them, I’ve got some pointers, but the biggest tip I have is to start at floor 21 and make your way down to have the best chance of finding all of the items.

How to get a Coral Mantis

Coral Mantis are a pinkish purple bug which can be found wandering on the ground of the Mines between floors 21 and 40. Unlike other insects in the Mines, you don’t need to destroy any rocks or boxes to find them as they’re usually just roaming around in the open.

How to get Sapphires

Sapphires can be found in blue rocks or nodes on floors 21 to 40 of the Mines. If you’re lacking these bountiful rocks, you can sometimes purchase Sapphires from Balor’s Wagon.

How to get an Archerfish

Archerfish can be found in any water on floors 21 to 40 of the Mines. They’re medium sized fish. They seem to be on the rarer side, so you may find yourself with an inventory full of fish while hunting for an Archerfish, but on the plus side, you’ll have a lot of donations for the Museum!

How to get Jade Dulse

Jade Dulse is a green aquatic weed which can be found on the ground on any floor between 21 and 40 in the Mines. This is the item which gave me the most trouble while trying to open the Earth Seal, and it took me three in-game days worth of Mine exploration before I found one.

Once you’ve got all of the four required items, head back down to floor 40 and interact with the Stone Tablet in the middle of the room to hand them over and unlock the Earth Seal.

What do you get for opening the Earth Seal in Fields of Mistria?

Floors 40 to 60 in the Mines of Fields of Mistria offer Silver Ingots, Crystals and more

After opening the Earth Seal, you’re free to proceed further into the Mines and gather up more valuable resources such as Emeralds, Crystals, and most importantly, Silver Ore. There are also new artifacts to be found, including the Crystal Rose.

Silver Ore can then be used to upgrade your gear, which will definitely be necessary in order to survive the next 20 floors of the Mine. The enemies down here are harder to defeat than any you’ve encountered before.

However, this is at least slightly improved by the Heart Crystal given to you by the Priestess upon breaking the Earth Seal, which increases the amount of health you have slightly.

The Growth spell allows you to instantly grow crops in Fields of Mistria

Once you return to your farm, Caldarus will once again request to talk to you, thanking you for opening the door before granting you another Magic Spell called ‘Growth’. This can be used to instantly grow a 3×3 square of crops or progress tree growth by one stage.

Caldarus will also restore all of the Mana you’ve recently spent, as well as giving you a further Mana, increasing the total Mana available for use to 3.
