Starfield features a bunch of factions and even religions that you can join. Deciding on which to choose might confuse players or trigger their fear of missing out, so let me help you out: the space pirates are the coolest of the bunch.
The Crimson Fleet, aka space pirates, is by far the best faction to pick in the game if you’re looking for unadulterated fun, but there’s a caveat. The process of joining the Crimson Fleet isn’t as straightforward as that of joining the other factions. It’s pretty cool, though. So, how do you do it?
Option A: By being bad at crime
This is the easiest route and the one I’d definitely recommend that you take.
If the authorities catch you red-handed when committing any sort of illegal activity, they’ll book you and Commander Ikenda will invite you to use your “skills” to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet.
Once in, you can either continue to play the undercover game or actually begin living the pirate life.
Option B: By being a narc
Starfield allows players to be in more than one faction at a time. This method will have players joining the United Colonies to gain access to the Crimson Fleet.
This approach requires a few more steps, but it’s also relatively straightforward.
First, you need to head to New Atlantis in Jemison. Enter the UC security office, and talk to Sargeant Yumi. Then, speak to Commander Tuala to join the United Colonies Vanguard.
Begin doing the UC Vanguard quest missions. Once you get to the mission Grunt Work, you’ll get to talk to Commander Ikande. He will once again invite you to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet.
If you’ve taken this longer route, chances are you’re not interested in breaking the law, and that you really want to take the Crimson Fleet down. Still, I’d like you to know that you can forget the UC mission and just become a full-fledged pirate if you want.
You can learn more about the Crimson Fleet right here, and you can now live the pirate life in Starfield on PC and Xbox Series X|S
