Storing items in Brighter Stores depends almost entirely on the type of materials or equipment you’re banking. While you won’t find a standard bank anywhere, the game still offers numerous ways to store items and keep things organized.
How to store equipment in Brighter Shores
Brighter Shores offers three main ways to store your equipment, skilling materials, and consumables:
- Quartermaster’s Bank spell
- Storage Containers around the map
- Storage Rifts (requires completing Spider’s Nest)
The first option you’ll unlock shortly after completing the tutorial is the Quartermaster’s Bank spell. You can access this by opening your spell menu, which appears as a green swirl in the top corner of your screen, and selecting the Quartermaster option. Doing this opens a bank that you can use to deposit equipment and weapons.
The only downside to the Quartermaster’s Bank spell is it only stores weapons and armor. If your inventory is full of crafting materials, you’ll have to resort to a Storage Rift or containers scattered around each episode’s maps. Fortunately, if you’re grinding combat professions and have a bunch of equipment filling your inventory, you can temporarily store them with this before selling everything later.
Alternatively, you can visit storage containers. Every Brighter Shores skill that involves collecting items has its own dedicated storage container, from the cooking ingredients one in Hopeport’s Delectable Dab Kitchen to the bone container in Hopeforest’s Cutter’s Clearing area. They’re everywhere, and most profession buildings have one for their related materials.
Unfortunately, this also means you won’t have everything in one spot. If you need food, you’ll have to head to the restaurant. If you need logs or planks, you’ll have to go all the way to the Carpenter’s Workshop in Hopeforest. It’s a lot of running around, making it primarily useful if you’re focusing on one skill at a time.
Your last option is unlocking Storage Rifts. They initially appear as strange stones on the ground, but completing the Spider’s Nest quest in Hopeforest converts them into storage areas. They all connect to one another, making them the closest you’ll get to a true bank.
Doesn’t that mean this is the best option, then? Well, yes, but completing Spider’s Nest is no joke. Alongside defeating various tough monsters, you’ll need level 32 Carpentry to make an anti-acidic shield. Don’t be surprised if you end up spending several days progressing this skill.
