How many CAW slots can you have in WWE 2K23?

Not nearly enough slots

WWE 2K23 has arrived, offering the latest annual release for the pro wrestling video game adaptation. Though the changes are minimal in this otherwise great wrestling game, one of the changes some fans were hoping for more create-a-wrestler slots. Unfortunately, that isnā€™t the case.

What is CAW (Create-a-Wrestler)?

CAW is the abbreviation for the “Create-A-Wrestler” slots in WWE 2K23. These slots let users create various custom wrestlers to use in the numerous game modes that the game offers, such as the story-driven My Rise Career experience and more.

In reality, though, many people just use the CAW slots to make the most meme-worthy characters around. With the media images you can now upload to the game and then use in the character creator slots, it is possible to make ridiculous pop culture characters from other games, movies, and more.

The CAW community’s imagination has been showcased in brilliant videos, featuring barnburner matches such as Majin Buu from Dragon Ball Z vs. Kratos from God of War Ragnarok.

How many CAW slots are there in WWE 2K23?

Unfortunately, if you played WWE 2K22, youā€™ll find that the number of CAW slots in WWE 2K23 is exactly the same. There are only 100 CAW slots in this latest entry, which is no different from the last few games.

This means you are only able to make 100 custom wrestlers in this title before youā€™ll have to delete one to make room for the others. That may initially sound like a fair amount for some players, but long-time players may already know that this is a deceptive amount.

The slots are especially limited if you are someone who wants to make lots of CAW videos or create other hilarious situations in the wrestling game. You can easily fill up these slots simply trying to make a few experimental variations of different characters you like, such as updated forms and outfits.

This lack of change regarding CAW slots is despite the overwhelming requests from fans to add more slots in this game. In the past, fans have wanted to see upwards of at least 200 slots but, alas, this hasnā€™t happened yet. It is possible this could be due to the lack of power and memory that the older-gen consoles like PS4 and Xbox One have, which WWE 2K23 is still available on.

That said, it appears that there is at least the option to upload more media files than ever before. So, this could theoretically make it easier to store images and recreate certain characters more quickly. That way, you donā€™t have to waste your precious CAW slots on less-used wrestlers.
