Yes, it is possible to get your own house in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Having your own house is extremely useful as it gives you easy-to-access storage space as well as a bed to sleep in instead of relying on resting at an Inn and spending gold to do so each night. Here is how you get a house in Dragon’s Dogma 2 as well as why you should.
Watch over Mildred’s house for the A Place to Call Home quest
To get a house in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to finish the A Place to Call Home quest for Mildred. As you progress through the game, you’ll eventually encounter an NPC named Mildred outside of the tavern in Vernworth. She will tell you she is going out of town for a week and basically looking for someone to housesit for her while she is gone. Agreed to do so and she will bring you to the location of her house.
The location is the Private Dwelling indicated in the above screenshot. Once you’ve started the A Place to Call Home quest, just swing by every day and check on it. There’s a nice comfy bed and a storage chest inside you can make use of, so there’s really no reason not to.
After about a week of in-game time, Mildred will return from her trip and mention that she really liked it where she was, and would rather live there. She’s willing to part with her house and give it to you, for a fee of course.
It costs 20,000 Gold to purchase the house from Mildred. Once you buy it, the quest will be complete and the house is now yours, including the storage chest and bed!
Should you buy Mildred’s House in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
It’s definitely worth buying Mildred’s House. 20,000 G may seem like a lot, but that will pay for itself very quickly just by having the free bed to sleep in alone. Without a house, you have to rest at an Inn. In Vernworth, which is the most convenient Inn, it costs 2,000 G per night to sleep in it. That means after just 10 sleeps you will have saved money by sleeping at your house as oppose to the Inn.
Furthermore, you also get access to a conveniently located Storage Chest. This allows you to quickly and easily store excess items after every trip, which is very useful. It can be pretty easy to get over-encumbered in Dragon’s Dogma 2, so having a spot to dump off all your access materials is very useful.
As long as you complete the main story quests for Brant, 20,000 G should be an easy sum to reach and buy Mildred’s House when the time comes, and I highly recommend doing so.
