How and where to catch Rare Servofish in Warframe

Ice fishing, but with an electrical spear.

Chances are, youā€™re here because you are assigned the Venus Fisher Nightwave weekly challenge. Fishing is one of the few activities that gives you a moment to unwind from the hectic combat in the game. This is the perfect opportunity to go out into the Orb Vallis and get some materials for the Fortuna items. With that said, here is how you can catch rare Servofish in Warframe as well as where to get them.

How to catch Rare Servofish in Warframe

First, you will need a fishing spear spear earned from The Biz in Fortuna. Either the Shockprod or Stunna can work, but itā€™s best to use the latter. Unlike fishing in other open-world regions, you donā€™t need to know what resistances and weaknesses fish have. They can be caught as long as you land your shot.

Next, itā€™s good to bring items like Luminous Dye. You can buy them from Fisher Hai-Luk on Cetus, Earth for Ostron standing. It isnā€™t needed, but it helps you spot fish in the water a lot easier.

You can also use bait for certain rare species of fish, but it isnā€™t needed at all. Spearfishing for the Venus species is much more straightforward because of that. Of course, if you want to catch even more, then you can opt to buy several units of them for reasons beyond the Nightwave challenge.

Finally, a great way to track where rare fish would spawn is by locating hotspots. If you ever see some kind of glow in the water that looks like the Aurora Borealis, that means thereā€™s an increased chance of higher fish density, but also for rarer species to spawn.

Where to catch Rare Servofish

There are three very reliable places to find rare species of Servofish out in the Orb Vallis. Weā€™ll list out the location and weather cycle needed to find them.

Area 1

A reliable spot for fishing is directly behind the Fortuna spawn point. You can find Longwinders here. They are classified as rare Servofish. For them to spawn, you have to be fishing in this area when the weather is warm. The clock on the bottom right will indicate that for you.

The Longwinder is a thin-bodied fish with several bits poking out of it. It can be hard to catch at first since it does move like a worm in the water. It can easily be mixed up with an Echowinder or Mirewinder because of their names.

Area 2

South of Fortuna and right by the Transit Depot area is a set of two ponds. Either one can be fished in to find the Tromyzon. Itā€™s a rare Orokin species that can be found when fishing in cold weather. This Servofish is shaped like the letter Y. Itā€™s also a thin-bodied fish, so it can be hard to hit.

Area 3

There is a cave located east of the Spaceport and South of the Orokin Dig site. Itā€™s at the bottom-right-most part of the map. Thereā€™s a body of water in there where you can catch the Charamote and Synathid species of Servofish. They can appear in either weather cycle, making this a more consistent area to farm.

The Charamote looks like a lobster and isnā€™t too mobile. This makes it an easy target compared to the Synathid. The Synathid is a smaller species with a curved horn on its mouth. It appears like the letter G and is quite agile.
