‘Elusive Targets are not going to be easy’

Hitman’s Elusive Targets missions are dropping today.

Need specifics? Sorry, bro, but we don’t have them. As elusive as its name, all we’ve been told is that the mode will become available “at some point on Friday during European hours” and be live for just 48 hours.

The assassination missions are a one-time-only deal that means if you miss them, you’re done – there are no resets, my friend.

“An Elusive Target is the closest thing to the Hitman fantasy that we’ve ever created,” states developer Io Interactive on the Hitman Blog. “Each one is a custom-created character with their own backstory and their own unique reason for being in that location.

‘We call them Elusive Targets because they are added to an existing location for a limited time in real-time and you’ll only have one chance to take them down. If you kill them, that’s the way that you killed them. There are no do-overs and no second chances. When an Elusive Target leaves the game world, they never return.”

The targets won’t pop up on the in-game map, or via Instinct — you’ll have to specifically and deliberately track them down with limited intel. Oh, and your option to save has been disabled.

Your reward? New clothes, apparently. For five successfully-completed missions you’ll receive new threads in the style of the “signature suit” from Hitman: Absolution. Complete ten missions and you’ll secure the signature suit from Blood Money. Future rewards “will include versions of those suits with gloves”. Rad.

HAPPY FRIDAY! <3
