A Fistful of Glitches

Very minor spoilers ahead

Everyone remembers the Mexico section of the original Red Dead Redemption, right? Really padded and drawn-out? Well, despite the locale not making a return in Rockstar’s sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, some canny players still found a way to cross over into the old map.

Once partway into the game’s mammoth story, players are afforded the ability to return to New Austin, the location used for the classic 2010 title. They are not, however, able to cross the river into Mexico, finding themselves hitting that infamous stalwart of game hindrance, the invisible wall.

Despite this, some determined players managed to find a tiny glitch that allows you to pass through the wall and cross the river. YouTuber ZacCoxTV uploaded a video displaying their sneaky trip into forbidden lands. Obviously, once you get through the glitch, there’s pretty much nothing to look at, save for old El Presidio, where a brutal battle raged in the original RDR. Maybe this land is a placeholder for future DLC, or maybe not. Your guess is as good as mine, pardner.

If you want to see for yourself how the glitch is performed, you can check out ZacCoxTV’s video below. But if I were you, I think your time would be better spent looking for cigarette cards, or trying to find unspoiled pelts. But it’s your call.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One.
