Helldivers 2 offers a temporary fix for one of its broken ship module upgrades

A proper hotfix is on the way.

Helldivers 2 recently added a new Warbond, which came with another suite of weapons to help players spread democracy. Unfortunately, the update seems to have brought a couple new issues with it too, but Arrowhead Game Studios is on the case.

Aside from the Democratic Detonation Warbond, Arrowhead added new Ship Module upgrades on April 11, much to fans’ surprise. While a more than welcome addition to Helldivers 2, some players discovered that one of themā€”the Superior Packing Methodology upgradeā€”isn’t working properly after being purchased. Given how expensive it is, it’s naturally infuriating to spend the resources on it, only for it to not do what it’s supposed to.

The good news is, even without a proper fix, there is apparently an easy workaround should you encounter this bug. According to community manager Twinbeard in the Helldivers 2 Discord channel, simply restarting the game should resolve the issue. Hopefully, though, you won’t have to wait too long for a permanent fix, but there’s currently no indicator for when this will drop.

The second issue is to do with the Democratic Detonation Warbond itself. It turns out the CE-27 Ground Breaker armor, which is included in the Warbond, went live with the wrong passive bonus. It currently sports the Servo-Assisted passive when it’s meant to have the Engineering Kit passive, according to a Discord update from associate community manager Spitz (which was shared to the Helldivers subreddit). The plan is to introduce a hotfix that will correct this but, again, Arrowhead hasn’t offered any sort of release window for it.

Arrowhead has been regularly stomping out bugs and other such errors since Helldivers 2 launched in February. Just a few days before the new Warbond dropped, it finally got round to addressing crashing issues that had plagued Helldivers 2 for weeks. Despite these frequent issues, though, it seems the game’s popularity hasn’t dwindled in the slightest. In fact, it was still at the top of the most recent sales charts in the UK, managing to outsell newer games like Dragon’s Dogma 2.
