Helldivers 2 devs give players a one-minute break to celebrate Automaton eradication

Helldivers 2 players finally get a moment to rest.

After a grueling series of Major Orders to eradicate Automatons once and for all, the Helldivers 2 devs rewarded players for their efforts. That gift, however, is only a brief moment of respite.

Operation Swift Disassembly tasked Helldivers 2 players with preventing an impending Automaton invasion on a scale never seen before. There were several pitfalls along the way, and it looked like all hope might be lost at one point. But the Major Order’s fourth and final phase went off without a hitch, and the pesky bots finally met their match. “Today, Super Earth citizens celebrated the full eradication of the Automatons,” the Helldivers 2 devs confirmed. “Additionally to reward their bravery, each Helldiver has been issued an extra 1 minute break. [Note: 1 minute is inclusive of the time taken to read this. Helldivers currently deployed are ineligible]”

This comes after the Terminds were contained, and their reign of terror was halted. Community members aren’t sure what to expect next or what new threat lurks around the corner. Based on the current Major Order, there will be a momentary period of peace as the citizens of Super Earth create new farms and safely raise Terminids. But, we have plenty of historical evidence to know that this downtime won’t last long. That one-minute extra break is obviously tongue and cheek, but it also comes with dark undertones, warning divers that they can’t let their guard down.

Coincidently, the new Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond launches later this week on April 11. The purchasable bundle adds new armor sets, equipment items, and weapons, including an explosive crossbow and a pistol that fires grenades. Divers wouldn’t need those armament upgrades unless a new enemy were entering the battlefield soon. Community members better enjoy that one-minute break while it lasts, because this is most likely the calm before the storm.
