Just in time

VR Only

It appears VR is required to experience Return to Northbury Grove, as the notice on the Steam page indicates a VR headset is required. For now, it looks like OpenXR, Oculus XR, SteamVr, and WMR are the supported platforms.

In Return to Northburgy Grove, players take on the role of Liam Murphy, an aspiring actor determined to land the role of a lifetime at the infamous Rock the Warehouse music festival. When he gets there though, the concert grounds are desolate and Liam gets kidnapped and thrown into the basement of the Spector Forest Slasher’s kill-house.

In classic Scythe Dev Team fashion, the visuals and audio are chilling, to say the least. According to the Steam Page, choices matter and can impact your survival in real time. Adaptive AI makes no two playthroughs the same.

I’m not quite on the VR train just yet, but this is certainly the kind of game meant for VR. It’s like a slasher horror movie except in VR. After playing HHBF I know that Scythe knows how to nail a creepy atmosphere, so I’m sure it’s a journey.

Return to Northbury Grove is available now for free on Steam.
