It’s been quite the week for weird and beautiful games to be hitting the iOS network. Earlier in the week we saw thatgamecompany’s Journey arrive out of nowhere, and now Devolver Digital has announced that Nomada Studios’ gorgeous Gris is also headed to an iPhone near you.

Releasing in December 2018 on PC and Nintendo Switch, Gris is an strange, evocative and emotional adventure which sees a young, voiceless woman embark on an odyssey through a mysterious, ever-changing world. At once serene, disturbing, exhilarating and moving, Gris is a unique experience that blends platform traversal and puzzle solving to create a metaphorical story of loss, reflection, and growth.

Gris is a game that, if allowed, envelopes the player with visual and aural flair, and presents precise platforming gameplay with fairly small on-screen characters. Quite how this experience will translate to a mobile screen, and whether it carries the same sense of immersion remains to be seen, but more eyes on this game is never a bad thing.

Gris is available now on PC and Nintendo Switch and launches on iOS devices August 22.
