We already knew that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV would be coming out sometime in November, and now, thanks to the Games for Windows Web site, can pin it down to a specific date: November 18.
Along with the release date, Microsoft has also listed* the game’s recommended requirements. Anyone else find it funny that the recommended OS isn’t Vista?
- OS: Windows XP SP2
- Processor: Dual core processor (Intel Pentium D or better)
- RAM: 2GB Hard Drive: 18GB free hard disk space
- Video Card: 512MB Direct3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card compatible with Shader
- Drive: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
As far as new features go, there are a few bullet points promising the usual suspects of higher resolutions and an expanded multiplayer. Interestingly, Rockstar has also added video recording and editing tools that will allow for easy uploads to the Rockstar Social Club. That’s all well and good, but I’m sure the main reason most people will getting GTA IV on the PC are all the crazy mods that are sure to be made.

[*Editors Note: Although that’s the list of requirements currently circulating around the Internet you may notice that the GFW page only has ‘Coming Soon’ in the requirements section. I’m assuming this is due to someone at Microsoft having jumped the gun by listing the requirements before they were officially announced, which were then subsequently pulled once coverage started to surface. Still, it’s something to keep in mind.]
