It will support some extra PC features, like ultra-widescreen and DLSS
Sony is bringing another PlayStation console exclusive to the PC. 2018’sĀ God of WarĀ is coming to the PC on Jan. 14, 2022.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony Santa Monica Studio runs down some of the features coming to the PC version of Kratos and Atreus’ journey.Ā God of WarĀ will support true 4K resolution and unlocked framerate on PC with supported devices, as well as a range of graphical presets and options.
Higher-resolution shadows, improved screen-space reflections, and other enhancements boost the visual fidelity. God of WarĀ will also have full integration with NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) on RTX, as well as Reflex low latency tech and 21:9 ultra-widescreen support.
The PC version of God of WarĀ will be headed to both Steam and the Epic Games Store, and both pages are live right now for pre-purchase.
This adds to the growing pile of Sony console exclusives headed to the PC. Previous games likeĀ Horizon Zero DawnĀ andĀ Death StrandingĀ have already made the jump over, and Naughty Dog’sĀ Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves CollectionĀ is coming to PC as well as PS5 in 2022.
God of War (2018)Ā is certainly a big one to bring to PC. It’s arguably one of Sony’s biggest PlayStation games from the PS4 era, receiving widespread critical acclaim. Sony also notes that as of August 2021, it has sold through 19.5MM copies of God of War on PS4. And with all of those extra graphical options, it could be a good showcase for your high-end PC now, too.
Sony Santa Monica Studio has also locked in a sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, for 2022 on both PS4 and PS5. No word yet as of this writing whetherĀ RagnarokĀ will make its own way to PC.
