A new developers discussion for Genshin Impact details some new quality of life updates coming in Version 4.7. The most notable change is an increase to the amount of Original Resin a player can hold. Here’s what that actually means for players.
These changes should take place with the Version 4.7 update, which is scheduled to be on June 5, 2024. We will find out more about what’s new in Version 4.7 when the special program airs on May 24.
Genshin Impact’s new Resin cap
With the Version 4.7 update, the total amount of Original Resin a player can hold will be increased from 160 to 200. Since one Resin refreshes every eight minutes, this means your Resin will now cap in about 26 hours instead of the previous 21 hours.
If you were already logging in multiple times a day so that your Resin never reaches the cap, this change won’t affect you. However, for players who only log in once per day, they now have the ability to log in at the same time every day without losing Resin. No matter your preference, this change offers a bit more flexibility for players to play the game on their own schedule.
In Genshin Impact, Original Resin is the stamina currency used to earn rewards from gameplay. World bosses cost 40 Resin to claim their rewards, and most other materials cost 20 Resin.
When Genshin Impact first released, the Resin cap was only 120. This forced players to log in every 16 hours if they wanted to maximize their limited resources. The cap was increased to 160 Resin in November of 2020 for Version 1.1.
Other quality of life changes
The developers discussion also outlined some other changes coming to Genshin Impact with the next update.
Increased item caps
The maximum number of forging ores, character EXP books, artifact EXP, and cooking ingredients will be increased. Hoarders rejoice!
More friends
The friends list will be expanded to accommodate up to 100 friends. I’m glad HoYoverse has faith in my ability to make 100 friends.
Recommended artifact stats
If you’ve been using the recently added “fast equip” feature for artifacts, there will now be a custom option to fill in recommended artifact stats based on player data. If you want to quickly gear your character, it’s now as easy as clicking three buttons.
Of course, the build recommended by this feature won’t always be the most optimal available to you. It will probably be good enough to make your character usable, but for more advanced build-crafting, check out our Genshin Impact build guides for more nuanced recommendations.
