When does Genshin Impact Version 5.0 come out?

Genshin Impact Version 5.0 releases on Aug. 28, 2024. However, those in PT or ET time zones will get it the night before, similar to past launches. Although the exact time hasn’t been set, the patch will likely arrive on Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. PT/10 p.m. CT/11 p.m. ET.

For an early start, download the Version 5.0 pre-installation patch, which should come out a few days prior. Server maintenance periods will also commence beforehand to prepare the latest update. That means you cannot play the game for at least a few hours.

When Genshin Impact Version 5.0 goes live, expect the following content:

If you have difficulty summoning these characters, you can play the Natlan Archon Act 1 quest for a free Kachina pull instead. But, to get the rest, you must rely on luck with the Event Wishes’ first and second phases.

To enter the new nation of Natlan, reach Adventure Rank 28 or above and complete Archon Quest Chapter 1: Act III A New Star Approaches in Liyue. Use the Teleport Waypoint to get there instantly.

Despite being a Pyro nation, Natlan restricts the usage of fire powers for an unknown reason. To make up for this, you can indwell or Spiritsconce with Saurians, the dragons of Natlan, to reach higher places.

You can also use it to pick up the upcoming resource, Phlogiston, a material that can help with combat or movement. Through the ancient ritual of Phlogiston, gain the unique Nightsoul’s Blessing for even more offensive advantages. Plus, Travelers can visit the various Natlan tribes to unlock Story, World, and Archon Quests, providing Tribe Reputation EXP to unlock exclusive rewards.
