Genshin Impact Imaginarium Theater full clear guide

Genshin Impact’s Imaginarium Theater is a new roguelike game mode that will challenge your understanding of reactions and team-building. Here’s a guide to the current Imaginarium Theater cycle and how to earn the full eight stars!

Opening Characters for Genshin Impact’sImaginarium Theater

These are the characters you’ll have access to when you begin your challenge. You can use your own character as long as they’re above the prerequisite level, or you can use a trial version of the character. Characters must be at least level 60 for Easy or Normal modes or level 70 for Hard mode. If you don’t own a character, or if your character does not meet the level requirement, you will be forced to bring the trial version of the character.

The current opening characters in Imaginarium Theater are Arlecchino, Thoma, Clorinde, Kuki Shinobu, Wanderer, and Faruzan.

These opening characters will also receive a 20% buff to ATK, DEF, and Max HP. Note that these buffs persist outside of Imaginarium Theater, so these characters will be stronger in the open world, domains, and even the Spiral Abyss!

Alternate Cast

You can supplement your opening characters with your own characters of specific elements. These elements change on a monthly basis. The current featured elements in Imaginarium Theater are Pyro, Electro, and Anemo.

There are a few exceptions to the allowed elements. Special guest stars can be chosen even if they don’t meet the element requirement. The current special guest stars are Baizhu, Sigewinne, Alhaitham, and Wriothesley.

Be sure to pick a supporting cast member, too. This lets you borrow one of your friends’ characters instead of using your own. Does your friend have a powerful C6 character? Or a character you don’t have? See if you can borrow their character for your Imaginarium Theater run!

Best Strategies and Tips for Imaginarium Theater

The key to success in Imaginarium Theater is team-building. Given your very limited roster, this means obtaining as many characters as possible during your run. As you earn Fantasia Flowers, spend them on characters rather than stage buffs. Having the right character at the right time can make or break your challenge.

Once you have all or most of your characters, you can spend more Fantasia Flowers on buffs. Pick whichever buffs seem more helpful to your characters. There’s a toggle for shorter card descriptions, if you prefer less reading.

In Hard mode, the Imaginarium Theater will consist of five normal battles and three bosses. Keep in mind what boss battles are coming up and what characters/elements you’ll need to counter them.

Boss 1: Jadeplume Terrorshroom

The first boss challenge is the Jadeplume Terrorshroom. Bonus Fantasia Flowers are awarded for defeating it in its exhausted state. To achieve this, hit it with Electro (no Pyro!) until the circular meter below its health bar fills up. When the meter is full, the Terrorshroom will enter a berserk stage, where it does several high-damage attacks before flopping over onto the floor. Kill it while it’s down to earn the bonus Fantasia Flowers.

I recommend a high-damage team with plenty of Electro and no Pyro. Fischl and Clorinde are great at efficiently applying Electro.

Boss 2: Bathysmal Vishaps

The Bathysmal Vishap twins must be defeated within 10 seconds of each other. Try to use AoE abilities and deal damage to both equally. If one vishap is defeated, and the other is still alive at the end of the countdown, then the fallen vishap will revive with a portion of its HP.

The Vishaps are also capable of draining your characters’ energy with certain attacks. Try to dodge or use characters who don’t rely on their Bursts. There aren’t any elemental requirements for this fight, as long as you’re able to defeat both vishaps within the 10 second countdown.

Boss 3: Coppelius (and Coppelia)

The Icewind Suite duo has high Anemo RES and will create a Cryo shield shortly after beginning the challenge. Deplete this shield with reactions (Pyro is best) or an Ousia attack. The character abilities that deal Ousia damage are:

• Lynette’s Skill
• Clorinde’s Skill + Normal Attack
• Sigewinne’s Skill
• Chevreuse’s Skill
• Wriothesley’s Burst

If you don’t have a Pyro or Ousia character, you can try to deplete the shield with other reactions, like Superconduct. Superconduct is less effective, but will do the job eventually. Blunt attacks like Plunging Attacks or Claymore hits are also capable of breaking the shield.

Take care to avoid Coppelia’s Anemo attacks. She likes to circle around the outside of the arena, and it’s easy to be sniped by a powerful hit from off-screen.

I recommend bringing a Pyro DPS paired with a shielder or healer to mitigate damage. The boss’ high Anemo RES means Anemo DPS units like Xiao or Wanderer will struggle, even if you can get past its shield.
