Gaming is a Pyro DPS character in Genshin Impact who specializes in Plunging Attacks. Hereās how to play Gaming, as well as some team suggestions that will maximize his performance.
How to play Gaming
Regardless of his teams, Gamingās combos follow the same basic principle, with minor alterations depending on your teammates.
In general, start with Gamingās Skill, which will propel him towards an enemy and launch him into the air. Perform a Plunging Attack, then Burst. Repeat his Skill > Plunge combo as many times as you can, with Normal Attacks in between when his Skill is on cooldown.
If paired with Xianyun, Gamingās jump height will be increased, allowing him to perform Plunging Attacks even without his Skill. Adding C6 Bennett will infuse these Plunging Attacks with Pyro. If you have both Xianyun and C6 Bennett, you can use regular jump-plunges in between his Skill-plunges, dealing extra hits of Pyro plunge damage. However, if you have another teammate that requires Normal Attacks to proc their effects (i.e., Xingqiu, Yelan, or Beidou), stick with Normal Attacks.
Vaporize Gaming Teams
Gamingās best teams are Vaporize teams. In these teams, an off-field Hydro applier maintains a Hydro aura on the enemy so that Gaming can trigger Vaporize with his Plunging Attacks. Gamingās Vaporize teams are composed of the following:
- Hydro applier of your choice. Xingqiu, Yelan, and Furina all work great, though Furinaās Hydro application is a bit slower.
- Bennett will buff Gamingās damage and provide some healing.
- Flex slot for either a second Hydro character or an Anemo character holding 4pc Viridescent Venerer. Xianyun is your best Anemo option, since she also buffs Gamingās Plunging Attacks.
If Furina is your only Hydro applier and your Bennett is C6, Gaming may want to avoid using Normal Attacks between Skills. Since Furinaās Hydro application is a bit inconsistent, you may end up eating away at the Hydro aura with your Pyro-infused Normal Attacks, preventing some of your Plunging Attacks from triggering Vaporize.
Mono Pyro Gaming Teams
Mono Pyro teams are the easiest to play, since you donāt need to worry about reactions. Having another Pyro character also helps with Gamingās Energy Recharge requirements. Aside from Gaming himself, his teammates will comprise of:
- Bennett to buff Gamingās damage and provide healing.
- Xiangling can benefit from Bennettās buff for the full duration of her Burst as long as she is standing in his circle when she casts it. She deals additional Pyro damage, and her Pyronado stays at ground level even when Gaming leaps into the air.
- Anemo unit holding 4pc Viridescent Venerer. Xianyun is once again your best option here, but most other Anemo characters will work as well. Kazuha in particular is great for mono element teams.
Melt Gaming Teams
As long as you have enough Cryo application, Gaming is able to trigger Melt with his Plunging Attacks. This is harder to pull off than Vaporize, since Pyro consumes more Cryo aura than Hydro. You will usually need at least two Cryo teammates in order to guarantee consistent Melts. This means having to choose between Bennett or an Anemo unit for your last slot, though.
- Any two Cryo appliers will work, as long as they can apply Cryo from off-field. I recommend any combo of Layla, Rosaria, or Kaeya. Ganyu or Shenhe can work too, but they may be of better use in other teams.
- Bennett or an Anemo unit will provide buffs or debuffs. Xianyun is the best Anemo option for her buffs to Plunging Attacks. Lynette deserves a special mention since she can absorb Cryo into her Burst, acting as an additional source of Cryo application. Kazuha and Sucrose can be tricky to use, since they preferentially absorb Pyro into their Bursts instead of Cryo, potentially making it harder for Gaming to trigger Melt.
Overload Gaming Teams
Iām still not the biggest fan of Overload in general, since it can knock away smaller enemies, but Chevreuse makes Overload teams viable, especially if she has Constellations. In Overload teams, the emphasis isnāt on the reaction itself, but on buffing individual charactersā raw Pyro and Electro damage. In addition to Gaming himself, you will need:
- Chevreuse to debuff enemies and buff your teamās Pyro and Electro damage. If you donāt have Chevreuse, try substituting an Anemo unit with 4pc Viridescent Venerer.
- Bennett to provide both buffs and healing.
- Fischl or Yae Miko provide the Electro for Overloads, as well as a significant amount of Electro damage. Beidou is also a viable option, though you will need to build extra Energy Recharge on her for this team.
